Conrad's Spaghetti and Meat Sauce recipe


    6 servings

Ingredients:

  • 1 (16 ounce) package pasta
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 1/4 cups water
  • 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 2 teaspoons soy sauce
  • 1/2 onion, finely diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 stalk celery, chopped
  • 1/8 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 1/4 tablespoon dried basil

    Instructions:

  • In a large pot with boiling salted water cook pasta until al dente.
  • Drain.
  • Meanwhile, in a large pot cook ground beef with water over medium heat.
  • Once beef has cooked, remove excess water with a spoon.
  • Allow some liquid to remain to enhance flavor.
  • Add tomato sauce, celery, green bell pepper, and soy sauce.
  • Cook for 10 minutes.
  • Add garlic, oregano, and basil to taste.
  • Simmer for 10 to 20 minutes.
  • Serve meat sauce over drained and cooked pasta.
