G-ma's Rice recipe


    8 servings

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 cups long grain white rice
  • 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 4 cups water

    Instructions:

  • In a medium saucepan, heat vegetable oil over medium heat.
  • Brown the rice in the oil until there is a golden texture, stirring frequently.
  • Reduce heat to low, and stir in tomato sauce, garlic, salt, pepper, and cumin.
  • Stir in water.
  • Cover, and cook for about 20 minutes.
