Habichuelas Guisadas recipe


    4 servings

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 cup tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sofrito sauce
  • 1 (.18 ounce) packet sazon seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups cooked pinto beans, drained
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • salt to taste

    Instructions:

  • Heat oil in a saucepan over low heat.
  • Add tomato sauce, sofrito, sazon, and pepper.
  • Cook, stirring for about 3 minutes.
  • Stir in beans, water, and salt.
  • Increase heat to medium, and cook for 15 minutes, or until sauce has thickened.
