Key Lime Pie with Real Butter recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups vanilla wafers
  • 1 cup slivered almonds
  • 1/3 cup real butter, melted
  • 2 (3 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup real butter, softened
  • 1 (14 ounce) can EAGLE BRAND® Sweetened Condensed Milk (NOT evaporated milk)
  • 1/3 cup lime juice
  • clear plastic wrap
  • Garnishes:
  • lime wedges
  • lime curls
  • thawed whipped topping

    Instructions:

  • In food processor bowl, add vanilla wafers and process until ground.
  • Add almonds; process coarsely ground.
  • Transfer to a large bowl; add 1/3 cup melted butter and stir well.
  • Press crumb mixture on bottom and up sides of a 9-inch pie plate.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes or until lightly browned; cool.
  • In clean food processor bowl, add cream cheese and remaining 1/4 cup butter.
  • Cover and process until fluffy, scraping sides of bowl as necessary.
  • Add EAGLE BRAND® and lime juice; cover and process until blended, scraping bowl as necessary.
  • Pour mixture into pie plate; cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate at least 4 hours.
  • Garnish if desired.
