Rice with Black Beans recipe |

Ingredients:
1 onion, chopped1 tablespoon vegetable oil1 (14.5 ounce) can stewed tomatoes1 (15 ounce) can black beans, undrained1/2 teaspoon dried oregano1/2 teaspoon garlic powder1 cup instant white rice
Instructions:
In a large saucepan, cook and stir onion in oil until tender and translucent, but not brown. Add tomatoes, beans, oregano and garlic powder. Bring to boil. Stir in rice, return mixture to a boil. Reduce heat to simmer, and cover.Let mixture simmer for 5 minutes.Remove pan from heat and let stand 5 minutes before serving.
