Strawberries Romanoff recipe


    8 servings

Ingredients:

  • 1 quart strawberries, washed and hulled
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup Cognac
  • 1/4 cup Cointreau
  • 1 teaspoon McCormick® Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon McCormick® Gourmet Collection® Ground Mace (OR McCormick® Gourmet Collection® Ground Nutmeg)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 quart vanilla ice cream

    Instructions:

  • Place strawberries in 2-quart glass or stainless steel bowl.
  • Add orange juice, Cognac, Cointreau, vanilla and mace.
  • Mix well, cover, and refrigerate at least 4 hours.
  • Place cream and sugar in a chilled bowl, and beat with electric mixer until stiff.
  • Allow ice cream to soften slightly at room temperature, but do not let it melt.
  • Place in mixer bowl and beat with electric mixer.
  • Fold in whipped cream.
  • Use slotted spoon to remove berries from marinade, reserving marinade.
  • Add berries to cream mixture and stir gently.
  • Spoon cream mixture into serving bowls, spoon reserved marinade over each serving and serve immediately.
